The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that federal pesticide law bars state-court lawsuits alleging that Monsanto failed to warn customers that its Roundup product could cause cancer.
Tens of thousands of lawsuits are expected to be thrown out because of the decision.
Monsanto parent Bayer issued a statement calling the decision "good for science, farmers and industries that depend on regulatory clarity for innovation."
