Supreme Court faces flurry of notable decisions

Major decisions in cases involving the status of same-sex marriages, subsidies for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act and the drugs that states use in death penalty cases are all on the docket for the U.S. Supreme Court. Decisions could be delivered by the high court as soon as Monday, according to NPR.

It is typical for the court to announce key or controversial decisions in the waning days of its annual sessions, and decisions haven’t stretched into July in over 20 years.

Beyond Obamacare, lethal injection and same-sex marriage decisions, the Supreme Court also is expected to rule on the drawing of lines for congressional elections, the right to put the Confederate flag on license plates and the right of a municipality to regulate outdoor signage.
