Summit to address work force housing shortage

Posted online
The Taney County Industrial Development Authority is presenting a summit later this month on the need for additional work force housing.

The Work Force Housing Summit will be 9 a.m.–noon Feb. 21 at Presleys’ Country Jubilee Theater in Branson.

Representatives of the Missouri Housing Development Commission and the Department of Housing and Urban Development are expected to attend, as are state and local government officials and building industry professionals. Speaker panels and discussion sessions also will be part of the event.

“We are inviting developers, building contractors, bankers, educators, real estate professionals, major employers, representatives of government agencies and many other members of the business community to attend,” said Taney County Industrial Development Authority President Cy Murray in a news release. “The work force housing shortage affects the community across a broad spectrum, and we hope to pull all the elements together to work toward a solution.”

The event is open to the public; attendees are encouraged to RSVP by calling (417) 546-7205.
