Plaza Towers event center and restaurant

Esterly Schneider & Associates Inc. is the architect of a renovation and addition project at the 10-story Plaza Towers that includes creating space for a 3,130-square-foot event center and 2,430-square-foot restaurant. Exterior upgrades include painting the building, facade changes, new signage and a 3,814-square-foot, multilevel patio for the proposed restaurant. Interior remodeling calls for new restrooms and an updated lobby. Springfield Property LLC owner and President Marco Denis purchased the iconic Springfield office building, and nearby Plaza Towers Center and Jimm’s Steakhouse and Pub properties, for $13.3 million in September 2020. At the time, Denis said he planned to invest more than $6 million in renovations. Base Construction & Management LLC is the general contractor for the project, along with engineers Miller Engineering PC, structural; and CJD Engineering LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project is expected to wrap in early 2022.
A wave of affordable housing built in the 1990s through the federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit are expected to revert to market rate housing in the next few years.
