Project description: In April 2019, Dallas County voters approved a 46-cent tax levy per $100 of assessed value for 25 years to build a new Dallas County Technical Center on the Buffalo High School campus. Officials say the center will include agriculture facilities and shop spaces. It will replace the Dallas County School District’s technical center in Louisburg. Dake Wells Architecture Inc. is the project architect, and engineering work is by Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; Crawford, Murphy & Tilly Inc., civil; and Smith-Goth Engineers Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
Connected to Watkins Elementary School is a new storm shelter now under construction.
