Hotel Vandivort, Phase II
260 E. McDaniel St.
The Lamar Johnson Collaborative LLC, formerly BatesForum LLC, designed the $9.75 million second phase of Hotel Vandivort in downtown Springfield. Plans for the five-story, 40,000-square-foot boutique hotel call for 48 rooms, a large lobby, conference area and fitness center. Officials say the crown jewel of the property will be a 1,500-square-foot, four-seasons rooftop bar and 3,000-square-foot rooftop patio. Branco Enterprises Inc. is the general contractor. Additional engineering work is by Olsson Inc., civil and landscape; Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; and CJD Engineering LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project is slated for completion in September.
A landmark 13-story flour mill, built in 1901 and out of operation since the 1970s, provides a highly visible guidepost to The Table, a restaurant being constructed at its foot near the intersection of Chestnut Expressway and National Avenue.
