Baptist Student Union mixed use development
906 S. National Ave.
Pending city approval and rezoning, Hood-Rich Architecture is designing a $10 million mixed-use development to replace the current home of the Baptist Student Union, which has served Missouri State University students since the mid-1900s. Officials say the project would provide up to five stories of student housing and some 3,000 square feet of ground floor commercial space. Plans call for the site to have a pedestrian-friendly streetscape connecting to the adjacent Rountree Neighborhood. A general contractor has not yet been selected. Engineers on board are Anderson Engineering Inc., civil; Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; and CJD Engineering LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project is slated for completion in July 2021.
