Sam A. Winn & Associates is the architect for Crane schools’ new media center, which will serve all grade levels. Smith-Goth Engineers Inc. is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer, and J.R. Haney & Associates is the structural engineer. The 10,800-square-foot center will have a large book-stack area, circulation desk, office, work room, distance learning and computer labs, library storage and a network room. The interior will use natural light and will have large display areas for books and student work in the corridors. Accented flooring and varied ceiling heights serve to break up the interior space. Completion is slated for May.
