Pellham-Phillips Architects & Engineers is the architect, engineer and interior designer for the upgrade of this stadium, located at Springfield-Greene County Parks & Recreation’s Killian Softball Complex. Funded by the 2006 voter-approved, countywide parks sales tax, the project entails renovating the complex and updating one field with permanent seating of 500 chair-back and 500 permanent bleacher seats. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification is being sought for the stadium, which will accommodate portable bleachers for larger crowds. Also included are field improvements, upgraded lighting, a training room and two locker rooms. Complex improvements include new scoreboards. The upgraded field will serve Park Board leagues, programs and tournaments, as well as national tournaments. The stadium field also will be the new home for Missouri State University Lady Softball Bears’ home games and tournament play. Completion is slated for February.
