H Design Group is the architect for Drury University’s 3,000-seat arena for sporting and cultural events. Engineers are Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; Colvin Jones Davis LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing; and Anderson Engineering Inc., civil. Ellerbe Becket is the arena design consultant, and Environmental Market Solutions Inc. is the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design consultant. The events center is seeking LEED-silver certification. Interior design is by Interior Planning Consultants Inc. The center will house a training facility, administrative and coaches’ offices, locker rooms, executive suites and a multipurpose space overlooking the arena bowl. The arena’s main entry is designed to tie it to a centralized exterior plaza that will expand throughout the Drury campus. Completion is slated for October 2009.
