Attacks are intensifying as Afghanistan's presidential election nears on Sept. 28.
On Tuesday, two separate suicide attacks killed at least 48 people.
One targeted an election campaign rally where Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani was scheduled to speak. Ghani was not harmed in the attack, which occurred at a checkpoint near the rally venue.
The Taliban has said it would target election campaigns ahead of Sept. 28. It's warning Afghans not to vote in the election.
