The Suez Canal Authority in Egypt has impounded the Ever Given container ship.
Egyptian authorities are seeking damages from the ship's owners for blocking the canal for a week last month.
Damages sought could be as high as $900 million, The Guardian reports. The figure includes lost transit fees.
