A study conducted at University College London suggests people who grew up in gridlike cities may lack navigational skills when visiting areas with more unpredictable routes.
The study indicates residents of gridlike cities such as Chicago or New York could struggle to navigate as easily as people from more rural areas or more intricate cities.
The authors of the report hope the results can lead to navigation-based tests to help diagnose Alzheimer’s disease.
