The student who was at the center of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court case has died.
A Peaceful Rest Funeral Chapel spokesman in Topeka, Kansas, confirmed her death but did not specify a cause. Sources conflict on her age, either 75 or 76.
Brown’s father, Oliver, has his name attached to the case. He objected when his daughter was not allowed to attend an all-white school in her neighborhood. The subsequent court ruling struck down racial segregation in schools.
