Strong winds knock down power poles on Glenstone

Strong winds snapped power poles in half yesterday on North Glenstone Avenue near Evangel University.

As of 7:20 a.m., the street was still blocked in both directions, the Springfield News-Leader reports.

The bad weather caused around 700 power outages throughout the Springfield area, according to City Utilities spokesman Joel Alexander.
