The owners of TCSI-Transland Inc. have appointed their oldest child as the trucking company's new chairman and CEO.
Mark Walker, the oldest of four children of owners Glendon and Anna Walker, has been brought on to lead the company, according to an April 27 news release.
Mark Walker brings 34 years of corporate and nonprofit leadership experience to the Strafford company's top post, which was left vacant by the resignation of TSCI President and CEO Mike Walker.
“We are confident in Mark’s abilities to lead TCSI-Transland at this critical juncture in our history," Glendon Walker said in the release. “Mark’s collaborative leadership style, success in transforming and rebuilding credibility of United Way Silicon Valley as president and CEO - one of the largest nonprofits in the region - his corporate executive experience with high-tech Fortune 500 company Applied Materials, and his relationship building skills with customers makes him the right leader at the right time."
As chairman and CEO, Mark Walker will work with TCSI leaders Scott Chastain, vice president of operations, and Tammy Campbell, chief financial officer, who will report directly to him.
The 31-year-old TCSI offers international brokerage services, as well as a fleet of short- and long-haul trucks traveling the continental United States, according to the release.
