Heavy storms knocked out the power of tens of thousands of Ameren customers in the St. Louis area.
The company's outage map showed more than 28,000 Missouri customers and over 38,000 Illinois customers without power as of 7:19 a.m.
Heavy rain and winds as high as 65 mph were reported in the Midwest on Monday. There were no reports of injuries. Media reports indicate the storms left more than 1 million in the Midwest without power.
