Staff members of the Springfield Business Journal were occupied last week, not only with putting out this week's issue, but also with welcoming our newest staff member, Jeffrey Wescott, who has been named managing editor of this publication. |ret||ret||tab|
Prior to joining the Business Journal, Wescott was employed by Sumner Media Group, where he served as a reporter and photographer for the Christian County Headliner News and later as editor of the Nixa News-Enterprise. |ret||ret||tab|
He also has worked as an editorial staff member at the Springfield News-Leader. A Springfield transplant and a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University, Wescott is a native of Kansas City who has made this community his home for the past 10 years.|ret||ret||tab|
As with each editor and editorial staff member before him, Wescott will make his own unique mark on the Springfield Business Journal.|ret||ret||tab|
As SBJ's new managing editor, Wescott is fortunate to have a strong team already in place. |ret||ret||tab|
He joins longtime SBJ journalist Clarissa French, editor of each weekly special section; Beth Santos, design editor; and Melissa Wilson, reporter, each also carrying out integral roles in putting out each issue.|ret||ret||tab|
The other editorial team member is Maria Hoover, who joined the staff on a part-time basis at the beginning of the year, and who has recently moved into a full-time reporter position. Hoover is also responsible for putting out SBJ Daily Update, a five-day-per-week facsimile and electronic publication launched early this year and which celebrated its first 100 days in print last week. If you are unfamiliar with SBJ Daily Update, check our Web site (www.sbj.net) or call our circulation department to request a sample copy.|ret||ret||tab|
In a few respects the Business Journal will change with the entry of fresh insight brought by new staffers, but in the most important ways, the publication will remain the same.|ret||ret||tab|
The Springfield Business Journal's commitment to continually sharpen our focus on the business, professional and economic life of the southwest Missouri community is stronger than ever. |ret||ret||tab|
One of the reasons we brought Wescott onto our staff was to increase our coverage of the rapidly growing areas surrounding Springfield.|ret||ret||tab|
Please call me, our new managing editor or any one of our staff members in any department if you have an idea for a news story or a way the Springfield Business Journal can help you spread the word about new developments in your particular business, industry or profession.[[In-content Ad]]
