Stocks rise broadly; Pfizer gains after FDA approves vaccine

Pfizer stock rose 2.5% Monday after the Food and Drug Administration gave full approval to its COVID-19 vaccine.

The increase was among moves to push the Nasdaq composite to an all-time high and help the S&P 500 more than make up for its losses last week.

Technology, communication and financial stocks also rose on Wall Street, and energy stocks rallied as the price of U.S. crude oil jumped 5.3%, according to U.S. News.
