Federal officials have charged a St. Louis urgent care owner with fraud.
Dr. Sonny Saggar and his office manager, Renita Barringer, have been charged with one count of conspiracy and eight counts of making false statements. They allegedly conspired to make false statements to Medicare and Medicaid by having assistant physicians perform services and saying that Saggar had provided them, the St. Louis Business Journal reports.
Saggar has owned and operated Downtown Urgent Care LLC, Creve Coeur Urgent Care LLC and St. Louis General Hospital, according to the federal complaint.
