STL subsidiary included in $2.8B buyout deal with British firm

British firm Melrose Industries PLC penned an agreement to acquire Providence, R.I.-based Nortek Inc., the parent company of Nortek Global HVAC in St. Louis.

The deal is valued at $2.8 billion, including debt.

Nortek Global HVAC manufactures heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment.
