STL restaurant owner wins $8.3M judgment against insurer

A St. Louis restaurant operator has won an $8.3 million judgment against its insurance carrier.

Charlie Gitto Jr., owner of Italian restaurant Charlie Gitto's, alleged insurer Secura Insurance approved faulty work performed by Koziatek Contracting Inc. at the company's Chesterfield location.

The restaurant's roof collapsed due to rainfall.
