Amid rising COVID-19 cases in the United States, the city and county of St. Louis ordered residents to wear face masks or coverings in public.
St. Louis County Executive Sam Page said the goal of the order is "to adopt science-based practices and follow the advice of our public health experts to slow the spread of the virus."
St. Louis joins Kansas City in implementing mask requirements. Springfield officials also are considering such an order.
