Workers at St. Louis nursing home Hillside Manor Healthcare and Rehab Center went on strike yesterday.
The workers are seeking better pay and working conditions. They allege the facility is infested with bed bugs, mice and cockroaches.
Luxor Healthcare, the health care facility's owner, denied the union’s allegations and said in a statement the workers chose “to abandon the residents we serve by initiating a strike."
