STL mayor won't seek re-election

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay announced he will not run for a fifth term next year.

Slay was elected as the city's 45th mayor in 2001. In 2013, he become the first mayor in St. Louis history to be elected to a fourth four-year term.

The mayor on Tuesday celebrated voters' decision to keep a 1 percent earnings tax, pushing back against a $2 million media blitz by Rex Sinquefield.
