STL mayor seeks to raise minimum wage to $15 by 2020

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay is looking to raise the minimum wage in the city to $15 an hour by 2020, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

The state's current minimum wage is $7.65 per hour.

According to the report, Slay's proposal is expected to be formalized next week in a bill before the city's board of aldermen. It would include exemptions for businesses that employ 15 or fewer people and those that report less than $500,000 in annual sales.
