The city of St. Louis is lifting a moratorium that has prohibited water service from being cut off for customers unable to pay their bills.
The moratorium in effect since 2020 has resulted in $12.6 million in overdue funds.
Mayor Cara Spencer said residents impacted by the May 16 tornado would not be affected as the city lifts the moratorium on Sept. 1.
