The city of St. Louis' Department of Streets is docking pay for garbage truck drivers due to trash pickup delays amid a snowstorm in January.
"You refused a direct order from supervision to report to your assigned route," a letter from the department reads. "Due to the fact that we did not work the previous two days because of weather conditions, and no alleys had been serviced, the Refuse Division declared January 8, 2025, a mandatory work day."
Impacted drivers will reportedly see a 10% pay decrease for the next three pay periods.
