St. Louis-based Mighty Cricket has been awarded a $650,000 Small Business Innovation Research grant through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The funds will bolster the company's efforts to convert consumer food waste into nutritious cricket feed. The crickets are processed into a nutrient-rich protein supplement powder.
The company's total funding is now $1 million.
