STL aldermen approve guaranteed basic income program

The St. Louis Board of Aldermen on Tuesday approved a bill to implement a guaranteed basic income program.

More than 400 families living in poverty will begin seeing direct cash payments for at least a year and a half.

Those households will receive $500 monthly payments.
