Former branch manager Larry Steven Aduddle was removed as manager in May after he was indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly making false statements on a loan application and to the SBA, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The indictment alleges that Aduddle made a false statement on a loan application for Amarillo Scottie’s LLC, a frozen custard stand in Amarillo, Texas, on April 10, 2006, at Mid-America Bank and Trust Co. in Dixon, Mo. Aduddle allegedly indicated on a personal financial statement he submitted to the bank that he owned stock in Metropolymer Labs Inc.
The case is still pending in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
Cowart said he has served as acting branch manager at various times for the last 28 years.
“Sometimes it’s as short as a day, sometimes as long as a year,” said Cowart, who has been an SBA loan officer since 1976.
He added that he is not sure how long his current service in the position will last: “I don’t have a clue, and it doesn’t really matter to me. I’m not going to apply for it, if it gets posted,” he said.
SBA’s Kansas City Regional office, which oversees the Springfield branch office, said the process to find a new Springfield manager is ongoing.
“We will be posting the branch manager position in the near future and would plan to have the position filled 45 days later,” Kansas City Regional Administrator Sam Jones said via e-mail.
