St. Louis-based Stifel has reportedly agreed to pay a $35 million civil penalty levied by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Stifel has been accused of allegedly violating federal securities laws by not maintaining and preserving electronic communications.
The SEC announced that 11 firms, including Stifel, agreed to pay a combined $88 million to address alleged violations.
