Steppenwolfer takes third at Kentucky Derby

Posted online
Locally owned racehorse Steppenwolfer took third in Saturday’s Kentucky Derby after a rally from 18th place near the end of the race.

Steppenwolfer, owned by Prime Inc. owners Robert and Lawana Low, came up from behind to show and pay $7.80 per betted dollar at the 132nd “Run for the Roses” at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky.

Undefeated Barbaro took the victory 6.5 lengths over BlueGrass Cat, and Steppenwolfer was another 2 lengths behind. There were 20 starters.

The horse next is pointed toward the Belmont Stakes, according to the Associated Press. Robert Low could not be reached for comment.[[In-content Ad]]
