Jeep and Ram maker Stellantis has started a CEO search.
Company officials said CEO Carlos Tavares' five-year contract ends in 2026.
“It is normal for a board to look into the subject with the necessary anticipation given the importance of the position, without this having an impact on future discussions,” company officials said in a statement, noting Tavares may stay on longer.
According to The Associated Press, Tavares has been under pressure amid lackluster financial performance during the first half of the year.
