Automaker Stellantis is idling plants in Canada and Mexico in response to 25% tariffs on imported vehicles.
The company's Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada, is scheduled to be down for two weeks, while the Toluca Assembly Plant in Mexico will go dark for at least the entire month of April.
"We are continuing to assess the medium- and long-term effects of these tariffs on our operations, but also have decided to take some immediate actions," Stellantis North American chief Antonio Filosa said in an email to employees.
