State starts audit of Pleasant Hope schools

Posted online
As students stream into classrooms, the Missouri State Auditor’s Office has started an audit of the Pleasant Hope R-IV School District resulting from a citizen request.

Auditor Susan Montee’s office received petitions containing 310 valid signatures from registered voters who requested the audit, according to a news release. State statutes require a minimum of 309 signatures from the district.

The audit is in the information-gathering phase.

When complete, the audit’s finding and recommendations may be delivered at a public meeting.

Montee asks anyone with information relevant to the audit to contact her office at PO Box 869, Jefferson City, MO 65102 or at moaudit@auditor.mo.gov.
