State revenue collections up 6% last month

Missouri collected $618.7 million in general revenue during November, a 6 percent increase compared to $583.6 million in the same month of 2011.

Through November, fiscal 2013 collections have risen 7.2 percent to $3.04 billion from $2.84 billion in the same period last year, according to a news release. The state's fiscal year began July 1.

Fiscal 2013 year-to-date gross collections by tax type:
  • Individual income tax collections rose 3.5 percent to $2.13 billion, compared to $2.06 billion through November last fiscal year.
  • Sales and use tax collections moved up by 0.6 percent to $780.8 million from $776.2 million.
  • Corporate income and franchise tax collections decreased 5.5 percent to $136.9 million from $144.8 million.
  • All other collections jumped 46.2 percent to $202.3 million from $138.4 million.
  • Refunds dropped by 25.2 percent to $210.6 million from $281.5 million.
Compared to November 2011, last month's individual income tax collections increased 4.8 percent; sales and use tax collections decreased 6.5 percent; corporate income and franchise tax collections declined by 59.4 percent; all other collections rose 143.2 percent; and refunds decreased 25.6 percent, according to the release.
