Missouri lawmakers on Thursday filed bills that would rescind local control of the city of St. Louis' police department.
The bills would return power to a state-run board.
"Crime has been a problem in St. Louis for a while, and legislators are starting to take note of that," said Jay Schroeder, president of the St. Louis Police Officers Association, which supports state board control.
