The 15-member board governs the foundation, which provides funding to nonprofit organizations to improve the health of the state’s underinsured. It is responsible for managing $1.3 billion in assets and distributing $60 million in grants each year.
Applications will be accepted until Aug. 17.
This year, the foundation is particularly looking for board members with legal or investment experience or members with an understanding of minority populations and health disparities.
Board members serve without pay for three-year terms and must live in the foundation’s service region, which covers 84 Missouri counties and the city of St. Louis.
The foundation’s Community Advisory Committee will review the applications and present between 15 and 25 candidates to the board.
