State health foundation seeks new board members

Posted online
Five seats are up for grabs on the board of directors for the Missouri Foundation for Health.

The 15-member board governs the foundation, which provides funding to nonprofit organizations to improve the health of the state’s underinsured. It is responsible for managing $1.3 billion in assets and distributing $60 million in grants each year.

Applications will be accepted until Aug. 17.

This year, the foundation is particularly looking for board members with legal or investment experience or members with an understanding of minority populations and health disparities.

Board members serve without pay for three-year terms and must live in the foundation’s service region, which covers 84 Missouri counties and the city of St. Louis.

The foundation’s Community Advisory Committee will review the applications and present between 15 and 25 candidates to the board.

An application packet and a list of eligibility guidelines are available at the foundation’s Web site, www.mffh.org, by calling (314) 345-5500 or by sending a letter to the committee at 1000 St. Louis Union Station, Suite 400, St. Louis, MO, 63103.[[In-content Ad]]
