Average Missouri gasoline prices rose 7.2 cents a gallon during the past week, mirroring raises on a monthly and yearly basis, according to an Aug. 9 MissouriGasPrices.com news release.
The state average price per gallon during the week was $2.63, nearly 11 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.
Compared to the same day last year, prices were 12.2 cents per gallon higher.
Nationally during the week, the average increased 2.8 cents per gallon to $2.78 a gallon.
The national average increased 6.7 cents per gallon during the last month and is nearly 15.9 cents per gallon higher than Aug. 9, 2009.
Springfield's current lowest cost of gas is $2.50 per gallon, which can be found at the Conoco at Grand Street and Kansas Expressway, according to the site. Prices are updated within 24 hours.
