Average retail gasoline prices in Missouri rose 4.6 cents the week of Jan. 16-22 to $3.34 per gallon yesterday.
Prices yesterday were 20.7 cents higher than a month ago and 22.3 cents higher than a year ago. U.S. prices, which increased 0.6 cents during the week, averaged $3.34 per gallon yesterday, 11.8 cents higher than a month ago and 25.3 cents higher than the same day last year, according to a GasBuddy.com news release.
This morning, Missouri had the 10th lowest cost of gas in the nation at an average of $3.20 per gallon. Wyoming held the No. 1 spot at $2.93 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com's
list of lowest gas averages by state.
As of 9:02 a.m., two filling stations in Warrensburg had the least expensive gas in Missouri, $2.91 per gallon.
In Springfield, the cheapest gas was available at Sam's Club, 745 W. El Camino Alto Drive, for $2.96 per gallon. A list of the lowest prices in the city can be found at

Chicago-based GasBuddy Organization Inc. operates a system of more than 250 price-tracking Web sites operating under GasBuddy.com.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading at $98.98 per barrel as of 9:07 a.m., compared to roughly $99.61 per barrel the morning of Jan. 16. Light sweet crude oil futures for March were trading at $99.50 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, according to the
CME Group.
