U.S. Senate candidates Roy Blunt and Jason Kander and Missouri gubernatorial candidates Eric Greitens and Chris Koster are visiting Springfield as their campaigns near Election Day.
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will join incumbent Republican Sen. Blunt at 5 p.m. today for a rally at National Safety Compliance Inc., 424 N. Cedarbrook Ave., according to a media invitation.
In a separate invitation, Greitens, the Republican candidate for Missouri governor, also said he would join the rally with Blunt and Cruz.
Blunt’s Democratic competitor Kander yesterday held a get-out-the-vote bus tour stop in Springfield at Big Momma's Coffee and Espresso Bar, 217 E. Commercial St. He was joined by North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, a Democrat who is not up for re-election on Nov. 8. Kander also visited Springfield for a GOTV event Oct. 25 at Missouri State University’s Plaster Student Union.
Also on Oct. 25, Greitens’ Democratic competitor Koster attended a health care roundtable at Jordan Valley Community Health Center. The day before, Greitens was joined by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker for a rally at the Ramada Plaza Hotel & Oasis Convention Center in the Queen City.
