Missouri Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick is fulfilling a campaign promise to investigate the state's legalized marijuana program.
His office is seeking to determine whether regulators at the Department of Health and Senior Services are operating “in a manner that is efficient, accountable and transparent.”
Fitzpatrick said the amendments that legalized marijuana in Missouri "represent some of the most substantial changes we’ve seen to our state constitution in recent memory.”
He added, "These provisions now make up more than one-fifth of the language in our state constitution."
