State administration commissioner Keathley dies

Posted online
Missouri Office of Administration Commissioner Mike Keathley died of cancer Wednesday morning at age 50.

“As commissioner … Mike was a tremendous public servant and a trusted member of my Cabinet who answered my call to help fix a broken state government with great competence and skill,” Gov. Matt Blunt said in a news release. “Mike will be remembered for his dedication and for his many achievements to help enhance the state he deeply cared for.”

Blunt has ordered all flags at state facilities in Cole and Stoddard counties to be flown at half-staff until dusk on the evening that follows services honoring Keathley.

Blunt has appointed state Budget Director Larry Schepker as Keathley's replacement.
