Starwood Hotels receives unsolicited offer

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. received an unsolicited takeover bid from a group led by 's Anbang Insurance Group Co.

The offer could potentially disrupt Marriott International's $12.2 billion agreement to acquire Starwood.

The new proposal is valued at $12.8 billion.
