Six entrepreneurs got a voice before the St. Louis Cardinals this week to pitch their ideas for ways to enhance the fan experience at Busch Stadium.
The St. Louis Business Journal reports the owners of six startups met with Cardinals officials Jan. 14 to raise awareness of their services in a meeting brokered by James Bafaro of InnovoxSTL.com, a site dedicated to promoting local entrepreneurs.
The participating companies, according to the journal, were:
- Skejul, a social utility that allows users to connect and collaborate more effectively;
- Rovertown, a student discount app;
- Lumate, a startup looking to improve mobile ads;
- FanzLive, a social app built specifically for sporting events and concerts;
- BusyEvent, the mobile app that creates a customizable app in minutes; and
- AdFreeq, a startup that aims to bring revenue back to the classifieds of newspapers and online publishers.
“If a deal or something comes of this, that’s great,” Bafaro told the St. Louis Business Journal. “But the goal at this stage is to increase awareness in the community.”
He said the idea came about after the Cardinals held the 100 Entrepreneurs at the Ballpark event in September, during which team President Bill DeWitt III addressed startup owners on hand.
