Startup enters partnership with SRC

Local startup AgButler is expanding through a pilot program with SRC Holdings Corp.

AgButler, whose app connects employers and laborers in the farming industry, is adding industrial recruiting through the initiative with SRC division NewStream Enterprises LLC, according to a news release.

“This partnership is an exciting opportunity for us, because it allows us to work directly with a major employer in the region to connect community members to available jobs,” said Kevin Johansen, founder and CEO of AgButler, in the release. “Our platform is designed to bring employers and employees together, and this expansion into the manufacturing space opens up an entirely new category of employers we can help serve.”

NewStream Enterprises, a supply chain management company, plans to use the platform to recruit packaging, warehousing and manufacturing employees. AgButler’s app connects employers with jobseekers in a digital environment that’s similar to a ride-hailing service.

AgButler was among startups that participated in the Efactory's 2021 business accelerator cohort. Each startup in the Efactory program received $30,000 in seed money in exchange for 8% equity in their companies, along with mentorship, networking, office space and additional funding opportunities, according to past reporting.

Johansen previously said his company had worked with Stockton-based Hammons Products Co. and Lockwood-based S&H Farm Supply Inc. on job marketing efforts.
