Workers are expected to start construction on the first coffeehouse, 201 E. Main, upon building permit approval in a couple of weeks, according to Rick Huffman, CEO of HCW. Huffman said the empty Akers & Arney Insurance building will be demolished to make room for an 1,800-square-foot Starbucks.
Another 1,800-square-foot Starbucks will be located near the Cannery Restaurant at 1818 W. Highway 76. Both coffeehouses will have the standard Starbucks-style design with drive-through windows. The first Starbucks will be completed in March and the second in April.
Huffman said each building project will cost about $1 million for construction and land.
Huffman said the architect is Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. of Springfield, and the general contractor is Cornerstone Building Services LLC of Branson. Ozark Mountain Bank of Branson is the lender.
HCW will own the property and buildings and will lease the space.
There are currently two Starbucks locations in Branson – one on the 76 Strip and one in Target.
