Starbucks to let employees split their time at a nonprofit

Starbucks is testing a program for some employees that would allow them to spend half of their workweek at a local nonprofit.

Starbucks chose 36 Starbucks Service Fellows in 13 cities for the pilot program.

The volunteers are working to support refugees, veterans and military families and youth. Starbucks' charitable goals also include eliminating hunger, protecting the environment and offering disaster relief.
