Starbucks to close all Teavana locations

Starbucks will close all 379 Teavana stores due to poor performance.

Most locations will shutter by spring 2018 and are located in malls across the United States. The move will affect 3,300 workers, but employees are encouraged to apply for jobs at Starbucks cafes.

Teavana adds to the list of other mall chains that have announced plans to shut down brick-and-mortar stores because of online competition, including retailers JCPenney and GameStop. There were 5,300 announcements for store closures in the first six months of this year.
